Recent Pictures
I have been shooting pictures with a Nikon D70 digital camera for the past few years. I enjoy the craft of taking a good picture. I will be putting pictures of various subjects up here as I take them. I make no claim to be anything other than an enthusiastic amateur photographer. Some of my favorite subjects are cars and our cats or other animals.
This is Penelope...
This is Brutus, the hummingbird that was feeding on our porch last Spring. He chased everybody else off until he got his fill. He kept me busy filling up the feeder for him. I got this shot one evening as the sun was setting and throwing a very nice light on him from behind. It was taken from inside our living room, with a 300mm lens from about 6 feet away through the glass. The long lens blurred the background, and also any dirt on the glass, because neither was in the focal plane. It came out well.
